Professor Giorgio Minelli

Giorgio Minelli Esanda TrainingGiorgio Minelli graduated in Perugia, Italy in Structural Geology. He obtained his Doctoral Degree at Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London in “Tectonic Evolution of the Perugia Massif Area, Northern Appenines." He is currently the Associate Professor of Structural Geology, Tectonics and Seismic interpretation at the University of Perugia.

His research topics: Structural analysis; geologic interpretation of seismic reflection surveys, gravimetric and magnetic modelling; balancing and restoring geological cross sections; analogic modelling, geonumerical modelling; drainage network formation and tectonic activity; fractured carbonate reservoirs; experimental petrophysics; planetary geology. The results of these applied and scientific works have been published in approximately 60 international and Italian geosciences magazines, and presented during international and national scientific meetings.

Giorgio has more than 30 years of teaching experience for undergraduates, graduates, PhD students and professionals. He teaches courses such as structural geology applied to HI geology, and seismic interpretation and tectonics.
